Madrasah Education in Singapore
The madrasah in Singapore have been instrumental in developing Islamic scholars who are currently holding key appointments in the religious sector namely the Registry of Muslim Marriages, Syariah Court, mosques and madrasahs in Singapore as well as the region.
To facilitate the madrasah to continue developing such icons and resource people is the Madrasah Strategic Unit (Madrasah SU), Muis.
What is Madrasah SU's strategic priority?
To develop Islamic scholars of national standing and Asatizah of quality for Singaporean Muslims.
What are the functional areas of Madrasah SU?
Madrasah SU looks into some of these core areas:-

2. Teachers' Upgrading and Development
Madrasah SU provides opportunities for academic and professional development of asatizah, as well as enrichment programmes. This is achieved via the comprehensive Teachers’ Training Road Map.
3. Overseas Students’ Welfare & Development
A secretariat under Madrasah SU looks into the development and welfare of those who study Islamic Studies at institutes of higher learning overseas. This secretariat is called the Student Resource Development Secretariat (SRDS).
4. Top Scholars Program
To provide an early start to scholarly development, Muis started the Muis-Madrasah Student Scholars Program to the top 10% of Secondary 3 madrasah students.
5. Administration & Research
Provides national assessment and coordination and policy research. Madrasah SU coordinates the Primary 1 madrasah intake, administers and facilitates the following national examinations:-
6. Administration of Dana Madrasah
Madrasah SU administers Dana Madrasah via the Capitation Grant, Top-up Allowance for Asatizah and Resource Grant for use of AVA, Library, National Education and Co-curricular Activities.
