Primary 1 Madrasah Application Exercise 2013

The Primary 1 Madrasah Application Exercise 2013 a joint effort between Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), Madrasah Al-Irsyad and Madrasah Al-Maarif.
Interested parents and legal guardians whose children are born on or between 2 January 2006 and 1 January 2007 are invited to apply to any of the following Madrasah :
Madrasah Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiah
Madrasah Al-Ma'arif Al-Islamiah
WHEN AND WHERE CAN THE APPLICATION BE MADE?
Date : 26 March 2012 (Monday) to 31 March 2012 (Saturday)
Time : 9.00 am to 2.00 pm (Monday - Friday)
9.00 am to 12.00pm (Saturday only)
Venue: At one of the following madrasah:
1. Madrasah Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiah
277 Braddell Road
2. Madrasah Al-Maarif Al-Islamiah (for girls only)
No 3, Lorong 39, Geylang
a. Application can be made at one madrasah only.
b. Application Forms may be obtained during application at the madrasah or downloaded here.
WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS?
The entry requirements are as follows:
1. Application is open only for children born on or between 2 January 2006 and 1 January 2007.
2. A $20.00 administrative fee is imposed for every application.
WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG?
To ensure that the application form is duly completed and accepted, please bring along the originals and photocopies of the following documents:
i) Identity cards of both parents and guardians (if applicable).
a. For application made by guardian, an Authorisation Letter from the parents must be submitted.
b. For application made by step-parent, the original and copies of the Marriage Certificate must be submitted.
ii) Child’s birth certificate; and Certificate of Citizenship (if applicable)
iii) Proof of Citizenship, if the applicant is Non-Singaporean at time of birth.
iv) Divorce/Death Certificate of parent/ guardian (if any).
v) K1 Development Progress booklet and its copy.
vi) Child’s Health booklet and copies of Illness & immunization records.
vii) Other related documents and its copies (adoption certificate, etc) if necessary.
The applicant (child) is not required to attend for this application exercise.
The applicant (child) will be called to attend a selection test as well as an interview on 14 April 2012. Absence during the day of the test will result in the cancellation of the application
Parents / Guardians are also required to attend a briefing on "Administration of the Compulsory Education Act (Cap51)" on 14 April 2012 by the madrasah.
Applicants will be informed of the results of their application through post by 4 May 2012.
The appeal period will be from 7 May till 19 May 2012.
The madrasah’s decision is final.
For successful applicants, please register at the respective madrasah according to the date and time specified in the reply card.
For unsuccessful candidates, please ensure that the child/ward is registered in a national school as required by the Compulsory Education Act (Cap 51). More information on the Compulsory Education may be found here.
