To improve the quality of our staff, MUIS has geared its efforts towards being
certified as a People Developer Standards (PDS) organisation.
Productivity
MUIS’ Work Improvement Teams (WITs) made another remarkable achievement,
winning three awards. They are:
Armageddon (Finance) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Gold
Highlanders (Property) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Silver
Mattek (Information System) . . . . . . . . . . Bronze
This is the first time MUIS teams have won the Gold and Silver awards. To ensure
that our WITs reports and presentations continue to be up to mark, WITs’ members
from MUIS attended special courses conducted by an expert.
Human resource
Strongly believing in the philosophy that ‘you are who you hire’, MUIS has put
talents in place to meet demanding schedules while inculcating the culture of
continuous learning and improve-ment. MUIS also secured Skills Development Fund
grants for 200 staffers in the Total Company Training Plan. Weekly and quarterly
in-house team building programmes were consolidated. Media-based training such as
customer service and telephone etiquette were also implemented.
Image-building activities
To consolidate the corporate image of MUIS, a corporate CD-ROM presenting MUIS
and its roles in the Muslim community was produced.
