24 May 17 Media Statement - Muis Statement on Bomb Blast at Manchester Arena

24 May 2017

  1. The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) and the Singapore Muslim community condemn in the strongest terms the latest terror attack on the Manchester Arena. We stand in solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom against perpetrators of hate and violence, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

  2. ISIS’ ideology and worldview are built on hatred, and its actions aim to tear apart societies and instil fear in people. We should never let such an ideology have any place in our society. Muis has stated before, and will continue to reiterate, that ISIS has no place in Islam.

  3. This latest incident is a stark reminder that the threat of terrorism is real, and we must collectively fight this threat. Muis is actively educating the Muslim community on the dangers of radical ideology. We stand firmly with all communities in rejecting ISIS, any other terror organisations and the misguided ideas they espouse.
