Deputy Chief Executive of Muis Dr Albakri Ahmad interacting with students during Singapore Seminar, August 2016
SCWO was established to meet the following objectives:
Orientate and Engage: Having a diverse pool of undergraduates and postgraduates under its care, SCWO constantly engages students on the socio-religious developments in Singapore and beyond. These engagements will help students understand the local needs and contexts of multicultural Singapore and prepare them for their future role as asatizah and members of the workforce upon their return.
Nurture Students: We believe in developing the full potential of every student and with proper guidance and development, they can thrive to be an asset to the community and Singapore.
Ensure Welfare and Well-being: SCWO and its officers work closely with relevant local and foreign agencies to ensure the safety, security and the welfare of our overseas students are looked after.
Strengthen Rapport: Due to diverse student backgrounds, we strive to regularly connect Singaporean students from every region to one another so as to create an environment that encourages healthy discussions and exchange of ideas.
