Primary 1 Joint Madrasah Admission Exercise for 2019

The Primary 1 Joint Madrasah Admission Exercise for 2019 is a joint effort between Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), and the 4 full-time madrasahs offering primary level education:

Interested parents and legal guardians whose children are born on or between 2 January 2012 and 1 January 2013 are invited to apply to either one of the four Madrasahs.

Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah

Madrasah Al-Ma'arif Al-Islamiah

Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah

  • A non-refundable administrative fee is charged for every application to be processed
  • The entrance test will be conducted at the Madrasah. The name of the applicant will be cancelled if the applicant did not attend the entrance test on the day/date and time specified.
  • Successful applicants will be required to register at the respective Madrasahs according to the date and time specified.
  • For unsuccessful applicants, please ensure that the child/ward is registered in a national school as required by the Compulsory Education Act (Cap 51). More information on the Compulsory Education can be found here.
  • Madrasahs have full discretion on admission matters and all decisions on the process will be final.


Application can be made at ONE Madrasah only, via their respective websites. Application at more than one madrasah will be considered null and void. To complete the application, please pay the non-refundable administrative fee and submit the originals and photocopies of the following documents within the application period:

  • Identity cards of both parents and guardians (if applicable)
  • Child's birth certificate; and Certificate of Citizenship (if applicable)
  • Deferment Letter from Ministry of Education (if applicable)
  • The parent's marriage certificates
  • Kindergarten development progress booklet
  • Child's health booklet personal particulars and illness & immunization records
  • Other related documents such as divorce papers, death certificate, adoption certificate, etc. (where applicable)
  • For application made by guardian, please bring along:
    • an authorisation letter from the parents; or;
    • the Marriage Certificate of step parents (where applicable)
