NEXTGEN Youth Symposium 2026
Faith and Future: Navigating Career, Anchored in Faith
About NEXTGEN Youth Symposium 2026
Your Faith. Your Career. Your Future.
What does it mean to build a fulfilling career while staying grounded in your faith?
NEXTGEN Youth Symposium 2026 brings together young Muslims aged 18 to 35 for a day of meaningful conversations, practical guidance and career exploration.
Whether you are preparing to enter the workforce, starting your first job or already building your career, discover how faith can guide the way you approach work, purpose and your professional journey. This year, we are talking about careers.

At NEXTGEN Youth Symposium 2025, livelihood emerged as one of the key issues of concern among young Muslims.
How can we find work that aligns with our values? How do we navigate our Muslim identity in a diverse workplace? How can we pursue our ambitions while remaining grounded in faith? And what does earning a halal income mean in today’s evolving economy?
NEXTGEN Youth Symposium 2026 takes these conversations further.
Under the theme Faith and Future: Navigating Career, Anchored in Faith, this year’s symposium explores how young Muslims can pursue their professional aspirations while staying connected to their values, faith and sense of purpose.
Date: 12 September 2026
Venue: Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore
Who should attend?
NEXTGEN 2026 is for Muslim youths aged 18 to 35.

About the Keynote & dialogue - Thriving: Faith and Career in Harmony
Ever felt like you had to choose between being ambitious and being a good Muslim?
Ustaz Fathurrahman will explore how Muslims can approach their careers as an act of ibadah (worship) – seeing work not simply as a means of earning a living, but an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society when guided by the right niyyah (intention).
He will also explore the Islamic concept of rizq (sustenance), and how it extends beyond one’s salary to encompass meaning, contentment and purpose.
The keynote will consider some of the realities of contemporary working life, including the pressures of hustle culture and burnout, and how tawakkul (trust in Allah) and sabr (patience and resilience) can help Muslims navigate demanding and competitive environments.
Following the keynote, Ustaz Fathurrahman will be joined by Mr Effendy Ibrahim for a dialogue exploring questions young Muslims may encounter in their professional lives: How do we maintain sincerity while seeking recognition at work? How can we practise tawakkul amid uncertainty and pressure? And how can faith remain an anchor as our careers evolve?
Guest-of-Honour's reflection
Following the dialogue, Guest-of-Honour Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health and National Development, will share his reflections on the discussion and its relevance to young Muslims as they navigate their career journeys.
