Wastefulness has no place in the life of a Mukmin. In a hadith, the Prophet s.a.w. reminded a companion to avoid excessiveness, even when making wudu (ablution).

To avoid wastage, we should strive to emulate the sunnah in conserving natural resources, and view environmental preservation as an expression of faith in Allah.
