Acting Minister Faishal Ibrahim launches SalamSG Ramadan with Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving as its core values
7 February 2026
The initiative features signature events including Quran Hour, Night of Power, and the SalamSG Gives outreach programme supporting over 500 households across all mosque districts.
The SalamSG Ramadan 1447H was officially launched at Yusof Ishak Mosque by Guest-of-Honour, Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim. This year’s initiative emphasises three core values – Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving – to enrich the spiritual experience of Singapore's Muslim community and strengthen bonds throughout Ramadan and beyond.
Embodying the 3G values: Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving
In his doorstop interview after the launch, Acting Minister Faishal Ibrahim emphasised the importance of these values in fostering harmony and unity. He said, “This year’s SalamSG’s values of gratitude, graciousness and giving are important to guide us throughout Ramadan. They are simple but powerful values that will strengthen our individual character and bonds as a community. Our mosques will be rolling out various programmes and activities. I encourage everyone to participate in activities organised by our mosques to enliven the spirit of Ramadan, enrich their spiritual journey and strengthen the community.
The values will be demonstrated through a suite of mosque initiatives during Ramadan. “Gratitude” will be expressed through uplifting content on mosque social media platforms and public appreciation of volunteers and congregants. “Graciousness” will be demonstrated through calm, respectful service, and courteous congregation management especially during the nightly Tarawih prayers. “Giving” will be embodied through thoughtful engagement with the community during porridge distribution and breaking of fast, creating warm and caring interactions at all touchpoints.
Key SalamSG Ramadan programmes
SalamSG Ramadan 1447H will feature a series of programmes designed to deepen the community's spiritual journey. These include the Service Excellence Training for Mosque Frontliners held in January 2026 to ensure quality service delivery that creates welcoming and meaningful experiences for all congregants, which fosters an environment where the community can focus on their spiritual growth. The SalamSG Pre-Ramadan Festival at Masjid Yusof Ishak held in conjunction with the launch prepared congregants spiritually, mentally, and emotionally for Ramadan through talks, usrah sessions, workshops and community activities.
Signature events include Quran Hour and Tazkirah Nuzul Quran (Tadabbur) on 6 March 2026 at Masjid Darul Ghufran, featuring reflective sessions on Quranic teachings; the Night of Power on 14 March 2026 at Masjid Darul Makmur; and the Ramadan Youth Challenge on 14-15 March 2026, across four mosque districts.
QuranSG Tadabbur video competition
The launch ceremony also celebrated winners of the QuranSG Tadabbur video competition, which invited participants to share personal reflections on Quranic verses through short videos. The top three winners, who were recognised by Acting Minister Faishal Ibrahim and Mufti Dr Naziruddin Mohd Nasir, were – (i) Wandanger & Mihwar for "Kembara"; (ii) Muhammad Hakim Bin Roslee for "Thankfulness Beyond Ease", which explored themes of gratitude in challenging circumstances; and (iii) Isa Bin Muhammad for "Finding Balance". The competition highlighted the importance of Tadabbur or thoughtful reflection on Quranic wisdom in contemporary Islamic learning.
Community partnership and volunteer recognition
Acting Minister Faishal Ibrahim also paid tribute to mosque officers and volunteers during the event, and acknowledged their dedication in organising Ramadan programmes such as porridge distribution and Tarawih operations. He expressed gratitude for the strong support of families and the wider Muslim community, which has enabled mosque to serve the community during the Ramadan season with warmth and dedication.
The launch concluded with the flag-off of SalamSG Gives in District North mosques. This outreach initiative embodies the spirit of Giving by encouraging support from the community for those in need. SalamSG Gives will be rolled out across all mosque districts during Ramadan, benefitting more than 500 households and families in the community.
Through these initiatives, SalamSG Ramadan supports the broader vision of nurturing confident Muslims, resilient families, and empowered communities. Members of the Muslim community are encouraged to participate actively in mosque programmes to deepen their spiritual journey and strengthen religious life.
