First group of Haj pilgrims arrives in Singapore
1 June 2026
About 300 Haj pilgrims arrive on the first of three return Haj flights; subsequent flights scheduled on 5 and 8 June 2026
The first group of Singapore’s Haj pilgrims arrived at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on Monday afternoon, 1 June 2026 via Saudia Airlines, marking the start of the return journey for this year’s Haj season. The group consisted of 302 pilgrims from seven MUIS-authorised travel agents. The remaining pilgrims are still in Saudi Arabia and are expected to return on 5 and 8 June 2026.
Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), Mr Kadir Maideen was present at Changi Airport Terminal 3 to welcome the returning pilgrims. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Executive of MUIS, Dr Albakri Ahmad. Families also gathered at the terminal to welcome their loved ones.
Successful Haj season
This year, MUIS organised three coordinated direct flights between Saudi Arabia and Singapore for its 900 Haj pilgrims. This approach improved the coordination of pilgrims' movements and more efficient Haj operations throughout the season.
Since early this year, the Singapore Pilgrims’ Affairs Office (SPAO) has been working with its appointed service providers to coordinate accommodation, transportation, and medical services in Aziziyah, Makkah and Madinah.
The SPAO team will continue working closely with AMTAS and appointed travel agents to gather feedback from this year's Haj season and identify improvements as part of MUIS’s commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience for Singapore's Muslim community.
