9 May 2026
About 300 Haj pilgrims depart on the first of three coordinated Haj flights; Nusuk Cards collected in Singapore for the first time to support a smoother arrival process
The first group of Haj pilgrims from Singapore will depart for Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on early Saturday morning, 9 May 2026 via Saudia Airlines, supported by improved arrangements to make the pilgrimage smoother and better coordinated. The group consists of 302 pilgrims from seven MUIS-authorised travel agents and is the first of three coordinated Haj flights from Singapore to Saudi Arabia.
Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Head of Haj 2026 Delegation, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim was present at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 to send off the pilgrims. He was accompanied by Mr Mohamed Sa'at Abdul Rahman, President of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), Mr Kadir Maideen, Chief Executive of MUIS and Mr Mohammad Azree Rahim, Deputy Chief Executive of MUIS and Director of Haj Office, Singapore Pilgrims’ Affairs Office (SPAO).
Nusuk Card collectionFor the first time, our Haj pilgrims will receive their Nusuk Cards in Singapore before departure. The Nusuk Card is an official identification card for Haj pilgrims. It contains key personal information, supports access to holy sites, accommodation and transportation arrangements during the pilgrimage. Collecting the cards in Singapore will help streamline processes upon arrival in Saudi Arabia and support a smoother experience for pilgrims.
This year, Haj pilgrims from Singapore will depart and return together, across three direct flights to and from Saudi Arabia. This approach will enable better coordination of pilgrims’ movements and more efficient Haj operations. The second and last departure for the Haj pilgrims will be on Tuesday, 12 May and Thursday, 14 May respectively.
MUIS has been working closely with the Association of Muslim Travel Agents Singapore (AMTAS), MUIS-authorised travel agents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Singapore, and the Saudi authorities to prepare for the pilgrimage. Since early January, the SPAO team has been working with its appointed Haj-related service providers on coordinating accommodation, camps services in Arafah and Mina, transportation and medical clinic in Makkah and Madinah ahead of the pilgrims’ arrival. Families, officers and partners were also present at the airport to support the pilgrims as they began this important journey.
