MUIS commences preparations for Haj 2027 (1448H)

Quota for Haj 2027 (1448H)

1. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MOHU) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has allocated a quota of 900 places to Singapore for Haj 2027 (1448H). The allocation will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis through the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore's (MUIS) MyHajSG portal ↗ (opens in new tab).

Issuance of Letter of Intent

2. Applicants who registered before 7 March 2014 will receive their Letter of Intent via the MyHajSG portal from 14 September 2026. To ensure timely communication, applicants should keep their residential address, mobile number, and email address updated in the portal.

Enhanced Medical Assessment Process: Comprising Clinical Examination, Blood Tests, Chest X-Ray, ECG, and Mobility Assessment

3. MOHU requires all prospective pilgrims to undergo an enhanced medical assessment, be certified free from disqualifying chronic conditions, and be physically capable of performing Haj independently. These requirements are mandatory and must be met for the issuance of a Haj visa.

4. MUIS has enhanced the medical assessment process for Haj 2027 to provide applicants with a consistent assessment of their fitness and ensure compliance with MOHU’s requirements.

5. MUIS has appointed medical service providers to conduct medical assessments for prospective Haj 2027 pilgrims. The assessment includes a clinical examination, blood tests, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram (ECG), and mobility assessment. Applicants with complex medical cases will be referred to a Haj Medical Panel comprising experienced medical professionals for further assessment. This will provide applicants who require further medical review with greater clarity on their fitness to undertake Haj.

6. MOHU has also emphasised that the medical health requirements apply to all prospective pilgrims. Pilgrims who are found to have disqualifying medical conditions during their stay in KSA may be liable for medical costs not covered by insurance. MOHU has also informed Haj Affairs Offices that countries may be required to bear costs arising from non-compliance with these requirements.

7. The medical assessment process for Haj 2027 will therefore help prospective pilgrims better understand their medical fitness for Haj before their journey, make an informed decision about their readiness to perform Haj, and ensure that the applicable health requirements are met.

8. Applicants are required to complete their assessment by 13 October 2026 at their own cost and are advised to register for their assessment early. 9. Applicants will receive their medical reports directly from the appointed medical service providers. Those certified medically fit must accept their Letter of Intent through the MyHajSG portal by 18 October 2026. Applicants requiring further medical review will be referred to the Haj Medical Panel. Those assessed as medically unfit may be advised to defer their pilgrimage until their health improves.

Issuance of Letter of Offer

10. The Letter of Offer is a formal invitation to perform Haj. Eligible applicants who are certified medically fit and have accepted their Letter of Intent will receive their Letter of Offer from 20 October 2026 onwards. They must purchase their Haj package from a MUIS-appointed travel agent by 2 November 2026.

Prioritisation of Senior Applicants

11. As with Haj 2026, applicants aged 70 years and above who have received their Letter of Intent and are certified medically fit will continue to be given priority consideration for Haj 2027 (1448H).

MUIS's Advisory to Applicants

12. MUIS encourages all applicants to be financially, physically, mentally and spiritually ready for this sacred journey. Applicants are encouraged to register their medical assessment early and familiarise themselves with Haj 2027 requirements and timelines. 13. MUIS also strongly reminds the public not to engage Haj-related services from any unauthorised individuals or travel agents, as doing so may expose them to significant financial risks, including the loss of monies paid with little or no recourse for recovery, denial of entry into KSA or deportation. Public should only engage MUIS-appointed travel agents for Haj travel packages and related services. Any encounters with unauthorised individuals or travel agents offering such services should be reported to the Police immediately.

14. MUIS seeks the community’s understanding and cooperation with the medical health requirements stipulated by the KSA. The strengthened medical assessment process will support prospective pilgrims in assessing their medical fitness and preparing for Haj, while ensuring that the applicable requirements are met. MUIS remains committed to supporting pilgrims through a smooth and transparent Haj process, with their health and safety as a key priority. MUIS also expresses its appreciation to all applicants in the Haj waiting queue for their patience and continued support.
