MUIS works with CASE to assist Sohibul Korban with refunds from The Meat Brothers'

Affected Sohibul Korban who have yet to receive their refunds can seek recourse following the disruption to local Korban arrangements during Hari Raya Haji 2026.
The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) is working with the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) to assist Sohibul Korban who have yet to receive refunds from The Meat Brothers’ (TMB), following the disruption to TMB’s local Korban arrangements during Hari Raya Haji 2026.
About 400 Sohibul Korban were affected by the disruption. MUIS recognises that the disruption caused distress and uncertainty, particularly as affected Sohibul Korban has entrusted TMB with arrangements to fulfil an important religious obligation.
TMB had earlier publicly stated that it intended to complete the refunds by the end of August 2026. When MUIS met TMB on 31 August to follow up on the refunds, TMB informed MUIS that there would be a delay as it was awaiting payment from a third-party.
MUIS has continued to follow up with TMB since then. However, more than 300 refunds remained outstanding as at 8 October 2026, and TMB has yet to provide a firm timeline for completing the refunds. MUIS has made clear to TMB that it remains responsible for honouring its commitment to refund affected Sohibul Korban.
Given the continued delay, MUIS has engaged CASE to assist affected Sohibul Korban in seeking recourse for their outstanding refunds.
As a first step, MUIS has provided CASE with the details of 32 affected Sohibul Korban who had approached MUIS and the affected mosques regarding their outstanding refunds. CASE will assist these affected consumers to lodge a claim at the Small Claims Tribunals.
Other Sohibul Korban affected by TMB’s local Korban arrangements who have yet to receive their refunds can submit their details and information at https://go.gov.sg/tmbrefund (opens in new tab) or scan the QR code in Annex A (opens in new tab). CASE will assess their cases and provide the appropriate assistance. MUIS will continue to work with CASE and follow up on the outstanding cases.
MUIS has also reviewed the 2026 experience and is strengthening safeguards for local Korban arrangements in 2027. These include stronger oversight of operators’ readiness, clearer contractual and operational requirements, and enhanced contingency arrangements to strengthen accountability and provide greater assurance to Sohibul Korban. Further details will be announced ahead of the opening of Korban 2027 registration.
MUIS thanks affected Sohibul Korban for their patience and understands the frustration caused by the prolonged delay. We will continue to support Sohibul Korban seeking recourse for their outstanding refunds. Those who require further assistance or clarification may also reach out to MUIS directly at info@muis.gov.sg or contact CASE at 6277 5100 or www.case.org.sg (opens in new tab).
