Prayer arrangement for Ramadan 2026/1447H
13 February 2026
Enhanced prayer capacity with almost 20% more Tarawih spaces at supplementary venues.
Muslims in Singapore are expected to observe Ramadan in the coming weeks. In welcoming the blessed month, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), together with mosques, have taken the necessary steps to enable congregants to have a meaningful Ramadan experience this year.
Tarawih (night) prayers at mosques
Throughout Ramadan, mosques will provide a total of 110,000 prayer spaces each night for Tarawih prayers, with dedicated spaces available for female congregants. Tarawih prayers will begin after Isyak1 prayers. Additionally, selected mosques will also conduct Qiyamullail (night prayers) during the last 10 days of Ramadan.
Expanded prayer capacity at supplementary venues (Qaryahs)
15,500 prayer spaces will also be available at up to 46 mosque-affiliated Qaryahs each night throughout Ramadan for Tarawih prayers, an increase of almost 20% from last year. These venues primarily serve elderly congregants and those with mobility considerations to have easier access to prayer spaces near their residence. This reflects MUIS's commitment to supporting these vital community spaces as they work alongside mosques to meet the growing needs of our community. This year, new Qaryahs will be conducted at Tengah, Chua Chu Kang, Clementi, Pasir Ris and Punggol.
Comprehensive Ramadan information and programmes
The Muslim community can access comprehensive Ramadan information at go.gov.sg/ramadan2026, including details on Tarawih prayers and locations, and other mosque programmes and services such as bubur distribution and childminding.
The Muslim community can also participate in various SalamSG Ramadan programmes including the Quran Hour and Tazkirah Nuzul Quran on 6 March at Masjid Darul Ghufran, the Night of Power on 14 March at Masjid Darul Makmur, and the Ramadan Youth Challenge on 14-15 March across four mosque districts.
Embracing Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving
This year's SalamSG Ramadan centres on three guiding values: Gratitude for our blessings, Graciousness in our interactions, and Giving to those in need. Our mosques remain committed to being welcoming and accessible to all, while maintaining safety at the designated prayer areas, to enhance the Ramadan experience for congregants.
MUIS seeks the community's support to remain socially responsible and show kindness to mosque staff and volunteers. As we gather for worship during this blessed month, congregants are encouraged to embody graciousness by being considerate neighbours. Those driving are encouraged to car-pool and park responsibly to minimise inconvenience to residents. By supporting our mosques and Qaryahs, and showing kindness to each other, we can strengthen our community bonds and enrich our collective worship experience during this Ramadan season.
1 Isyak prayers refer to the fifth daily fardhu (obligatory) prayer, which typically begins around 8:30 PM Singapore time.
