The annual Buka Puasa event brought together community partners and mosque leaders in the spirit of unity and gratitude during Ramadan, reflecting the SalamSG Ramadan 1447H values of Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving.
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, joined about 300 mosque congregants and guests for the breaking of fast at An-Nahdhah Mosque on 24 February 2026. The gathering was an annual Buka Puasa event organised by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), which brought together community partners and mosque leaders in the spirit of unity and gratitude during Ramadan.
Prime Minister Wong was joined by Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, alongside MUIS Council members and senior management. Before the breaking of fast, PM Wong toured An-Nahdhah Mosque and the Harmony Centre, and interacted with mosque management board members, volunteers and community partners.
This year’s Buka Puasa gathering reflects the spirit of SalamSG Ramadan 1447H, anchored on the values of Gratitude, Graciousness and Giving. The event embodies Gratitude expressed through appreciation of volunteers, congregants and community partners who serve selflessly during Ramadan; Graciousness reflected in warm hospitality, respectful engagement and thoughtful congregation management; and Giving demonstrated through acts of service such as communal breaking of fast and outreach initiatives that support vulnerable families.
Together, these values strengthen the bonds within the Muslim community and reinforce harmony in Singapore’s multi-religious society.
