SalamSG Korban 2026 continues overseas initiative with expanded local options and Gaza humanitarian support
9 April 2026
Registration opens today across 55 mosques, offering three livestock options with meat that will be distributed to local beneficiaries and Gaza communities affected by the conflict.
The SalamSG Korban campaign returns in 2026/1447H, maintaining its signature overseas korban programme while expanding local options and continuing humanitarian support for Gaza. A total of 55 mosques under SalamSG across Singapore will offer overseas and/or local korban options for Muslims performing the annual ritual during Hari Raya Haji 1447H/2026. Registration opens today for the Singapore Muslim community.
Overseas korban offering 3 livestock options
The established SalamSG overseas korban initiative continues as the campaign's cornerstone, available through 51 mosques across Singapore. This trusted programme offers three livestock options – cattle, lamb and sheep – slaughtered in Australia. The initiative maintains strict Islamic compliance standards while supporting our local mosques' community services through its proceeds.
Gaza humanitarian initiative continues
Building on last year's initiative, SalamSG continues supporting Palestinians in Gaza through its overseas korban programme. A portion of sheep meat from overseas korban will be canned for delivery to Gaza to support communities affected by the conflict. These contributions are collectively set aside from participants' korban donations before processing and shipment.
Meat contributed by participants across all livestock types will also be distributed locally to beneficiaries in Singapore, including the less privileged, through initiatives such as the annual SalamSG Gives programme, connecting with Zakat beneficiaries, families of incarcerated individuals and transient workers.
Local options for greater accessibility
For those preferring local alternatives, SalamSG has expanded local korban spaces with two additional participating mosques. Jamae Chulia Mosque (South Bridge Road) and Al-Istighfar Mosque (Pasir Ris) will join five existing venues in providing Korban services, improving access in Singapore's South and East areas. This brings the total number of mosques offering local korban to seven.
Local rituals will be conducted entirely by licensed korban operators endorsed by MUIS, with mosques providing premises and facilities. Further details will be announced by respective vendors.
Community support and values
Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim called on the community to support the initiative: "Korban holds deep significance for the Malay/Muslim community as a reflection of faith, sacrifice and compassion. The SalamSG overseas korban programme continues to provide an affordable option for the community and ensures that the blessings of korban reach those in need here and abroad. Our continued aid to Gaza also reflects our shared responsibility to extend compassion beyond our shores. The increase in the number of local korban sites makes it more accessible for our community to participate in this meaningful act of worship."
He added: "Korban reflects the values of gratitude, graciousness and giving to those in need. I am heartened that SalamSG continues to uphold these values in supporting both our community and its socio-religious needs during Hari Raya Haji."
