Clarification on fake MUIS Zakat Financial Assistance application

MUIS has been alerted to a fake online advert claiming that Zakat Financial Assistance applications can be submitted online.

MUIS has been alerted to a fake online advert claiming you can apply for MUIS Zakat Financial Assistance online. This is a scam.

MUIS does not process Zakat assistance online. Applications must be made in person at Social Development Mosques with the help of a Social Development Officer.

To stay safe, do not click on links, share personal details or forward the fake advert. Report the scam to info@muis.gov.sg. If you have fallen victim to the scam, lodge a police report at 1800-255-0000 or www.police.gov.sg/i-Witness.

Contact your bank immediately if you have accidentally shared your personal banking information, and report the scam to the Anti-Scam Helpline at 1800-722-6688 or via the ScamShield app.
