Muis Academy is organizing a 2-day executive programme on “Contemporary Islamic Thought Explored” (CITE) on 13-14 July 2017 for public officers. This programme is designed for officers with interest in religion, social issues, global affairs and security challenges. It is an intensive workshop that offers participants an insightful exploration of the broad nuances of the current state of Islamic scholarship, contemporary issues and the challenges facing the global Muslim community.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The objective of this programme is for policy-makers to develop a clearer understanding of the historical development of the Islamic schools of thought and situate the emerging global trends and the variety of lived experiences of ordinary Muslims, from conflict, migration and identity issues to research, knowledge and contributions in an overall spectrum. The instructor is a well-renowned Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Notre Dame, USA. The modules include Islamic Tradition: Past, Present and Future and Global Development, Local Realities and Islamic Thought.
