Importance Of Practicing With Knowledge

  • Religious practice is a manifestation of the faith and knowledge acquired by an individual. Without practice, faith and knowledge simply become words without meaning or coherence. Recently, we find many among our community who enjoy improving themselves and increasing their knowledge by attending study groups held in mosques or recognised centres of religious learning. While this is a promising development, in our eagerness to acquire knowledge, we must never let that knowledge be forgotten in our hearts without being practiced in our daily lives.
  • To obtain a proper understanding regarding both these sources is extremely important so that we are not easily influenced by teachings that deviate from our religion. And this can only happen when we ensure that our religious education comes from a qualified teacher. Therefore, we need to be more careful in making sure that the source of our religious teachings is able fill our spiritual emptiness. It must be based on the real source of the Quran and Sunnah.
  • As well to practice the knowledge that we have gained: this is done by being sincere when acquiring knowledge. How can one be blessed in acquiring knowledge if it is done without any trace of sincerity. And finally, To instill in ourselves a determination to practice what we have learnt and make du’a so that we may be granted guidance. May we be servants of Allah who are loved in this world and the Hereafter. Amin ya Rabbal ‘alamin.
