Building A Cohesive Society

As part of leading a successful life, we have to accept the reality that we are currently living in a non-monolithic environment. We live in a world where diversity is the norm. In fact, since the beginning of Islam, Muslims have lived as members of plural societies.
As Muslims in Singapore, we are confident that we too are able to thrive, integrate and contribute to the nation building of our beloved Singapore. We have seen how the pioneers from among our community have laid the foundation more than 52 years ago for the success of a multi-religious society.
While we are confident that we can live as Muslims in this homeland of ours, there are voices that seek to cast doubt on this long-held position. There are those that perpetuate some hostile political doctrines cherry-picked from the classical Islamic texts.
