Thinking Well of Others

  • Verse 12 in Al-Hujurat that was just recited reminds us to avoid having a prejudicial attitude. This is because having a prejudicial attitude can cause a person to be quick to judge, and to look down on other people. These are behaviours that are frowned upon in Islam.
  • As Muslims and as believers, we should not have, in our dictionary of life, the term "having a bad opinion" of other people. What more thinking that we are better than others, while we ourselves do not know how the journey of our lives will end! Can we consider ourselves to have reached perfection in our good deeds? Are we certain that all the acts of worship that we have done will surely guarantee a beautiful end for ourselves? These are questions we should continually ask ourselves, so that we may remain humble.
